The challenge
The Movement Centre is an Oswestry-based charity providing specialist physiotherapy for children with movement difficulties. Its Targeted Training programmes help children develop movement control, confidence and greater independence.
Like many charitable organisations, making the most of available resources is important. Redundant IT equipment presents an opportunity to recover value while ensuring unwanted technology is managed responsibly.
What SITR provided
Shropshire IT Recycling worked with The Movement Centre to recover value from redundant IT equipment through its recycling service.
The equipment generated a £50 rebate, providing a financial return to the charity rather than allowing the remaining value of its unwanted technology to go to waste.
The accompanying photograph captures the presentation of the £50 cheque, demonstrating how responsible IT recycling can provide a direct benefit to a local good cause.
The results
The Movement Centre received £50 back from its redundant IT equipment, turning an unwanted resource into funds that could support its charitable activities.
The arrangement also demonstrates how organisations can take a more considered approach to disposing of technology, recognising that equipment reaching the end of its useful life for one organisation may still have recoverable value.
